Coming Soon: SmartMusic’s New Digital Sheet Music Library with 13,000+ Titles

coming soon digital sheet music library

Here at SmartMusic, we’ve always prided ourselves on having the largest online music library available. Our current interactive repertoire library boasts hundreds of methods and thousands of ensemble and solo titles offered across all instruments—now entirely accessible by all paid users, and available for assigning and in the practice app for assessment. Still, the #1 request we receive from our users is to offer more music. We understand this need, and we aim to deliver.

On May 3, 2021, all paid SmartMusic users will gain access to our new Digital Sheet Music Library (PDF format only), home to over 13,000 new titles. These digital sheet music titles will be view-only and exist separate from the current repertoire library for interactive titles—discoverable to your students outside of the assignment and assessment loop.

How is the Digital Sheet Music Library different from SmartMusic’s current repertoire library?

While our existing repertoire library currently provides thousands of interactive titles available for assigning and immediate feedback/assessment in the Practice app, the titles offered in the Digital Sheet Music Library will be view-only, and only discoverable outside of the assignment and assessment loop. Additionally, these titles will not include accompaniment tracks, but will be available for Print this August for platforms that purchase Print add-ons.

What will be included in the new Digital Sheet Music Library?

The library will include thousands of arrangements across all music categories, including for choirs, concert bands, full and string orchestras, jazz ensembles, small ensembles, and marching bands, plus individual solos and full scores for ensemble titles.

What are the benefits of a Digital Sheet Music Library?

After a year of educators having to teach music in a variety of settings—whether remote, hybrid, or in-person—it’s become clear that accessing repertoire in a digital format will be an essential medium for students to explore and practice new music going forward. Our Digital Sheet Music Library will serve as a central location for students to quickly access thousands of pieces of music by their favorite composers and arrangers and in a range of difficulty levels where they can also freely challenge themselves with more advanced repertoire. Students can play titles from the digital sheet music directly from the viewer within SmartMusic, and users with Print add-ons will be able to print their individual parts from the Digital Sheet Music Library
